Motivation: Simple and Elegant

Motivation: Simple and Elegant

Some days the words just do not come, they do not flow like you would like them to so you sit and wait.  Waiting for some of us can be agony as we are used to moving things forward and making things happen.

The cursor continues to blink back at me, taunting me with its steady rhythm daring me to start typing even if I have no clue where to start. I take the challenge and start to type.  This is what comes out,

“What motivates you today?”

There is something to be said with keeping it simple.

  1. What motivates me? The passion for learning and growing. To me personally, it’s not just about doing the job and collecting my paycheck at the end of the week. I try to find other projects within my job that excite me and could help expand my knowledge base and grow my skill set, which will ultimately help the company. It’s not about being employed to me, it’s about being irreplaceable (not to sound too much like Seth Godin or anything…)

      Hi Hinda!

You win the ‘prize’ for the quickest reply yet, congratulations!!

I completely understand the passion for learning and growing as it is one I identify with daily. Your comment lines up well with the Drive to Comprehend and Challenge. The idea of employee’s being intrapreneurial within an organization will be a huge skill set now and into the future. Keep up the great development and growth!

P.S. Seth Godin does have some great insights!
